OPEN MRI

The Medical Imaging Center of Boca Raton at Boca Raton Community Hospital is proud to announce the installation of two new state-of-the-art open-configuration MRI machines. Anxiety, claustrophobia or a special physical condition can disrupt or prolong many examinations. We have done everything possible to make imaging fast and worry-free. With their light, open look, the MAGNETOM Symphony and Open viva make things easier from the start.

Our Siemens1.5T MAGNETOM Symphony MRI is an ultra short bore, wide-open high field MRI. With its light, open look, the Symphony has a friendly appearance that is enhanced by a flared 120 cm (47 in) opening. The magnet is only 1.6 m long and the patient space is pleasantly lit and ventilated. By combining the shortness of the magnet with the versatile positioning of the table, the chances of claustrophobia are minimized.

Boca Raton Community Hospital is proud to be one of the first sites in the United States to offer Quantum gradients, the most powerful hardware in the industry, which enable our MRI to use optimized, ultrafast sequences with unparalleled image quality. The wide-open aperture of the Symphony and its unique ergonomic design by BMW make it the most accommodating, least-claustrophobic high-field magnet on the market.

Our Siemens 0.2T Open Viva MRI is a true "open" magnet that is designed to enable even the most claustrophobic and oversized patients to be scanned. This "C-shaped" machine is truly the most "open" design on the market with design innovations like its unprecedented openness, ergonomic design and the calming effect of its colors. Superior software technology and specially designed surface coils allow production of high quality images in patients that could otherwise not tolerate an MRI exam.
